The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation Donates $20,000 in Support of Healthy Thanksgiving Fresh Produce Distribution Events

NEW YORK, Nov. 28, 2023 – The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of New York, provided $20,000 to Montefiore Einstein, in support of its Healthy Thanksgiving Fresh Produce Distribution Initiative, which recently hosted seven fresh produce distribution events in local communities.
Approximately 10,000 pounds of fresh produce were distributed at each site. The produce is intended to give families the ingredients they need for healthy side dishes and desserts for their holiday meal. Each bag of produce can feed an average family of four and includes a healthy bilingual recipe. The produce that was distributed includes culturally relevant foods for the populations that received the bags.
“We are grateful for partners like the Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation that share our commitment to improving the health and well-being of families across the state,” said Melissa Cebollero, associate vice president of the office of community affairs at Montefiore Einstein. “Their generosity makes an impact in our efforts to provide healthy, nutritious options to those in need during the holidays.”
In addition to the food distribution events, 20 community-based organizations across the Hudson Valley received 50 bags each. Those organizations will distribute the produce bags to families and individuals served by their organizations.
